How many mornings did I actually say this? Too many. But I always enjoyed 
the thrill of doing deep research and seeing it pay off in a lead no one knew about, or interviewing someone no one else could schedule, for whatever reason.
Memories of that thrill, that feeling, will always be with me; but the desire to grab a camera and rush out the door at 4 a.m. to cover breaking news, that “thrill is gone,” as the song says. But it’s still a great song.
